Resolved Question: Binoculars: With mil dot, tactical milling or no reticle?

I want to but a nice pair of binoculars. I have mostly enverything figured, but I would like to know if anyone has a opinion about reticles? (If you don't know what that is, please don't answer) I am stongly considering the tactical military leupold 10x40. Because it is durable, the right size and specs. I want to use it to spot while hunting, and generally be able to scan an area for activity. I would also like to learn to range find with mil dot or tactical milling reticle, but I am concerned the reticle will obstruct my view and I will waste 500 bucks, Insight from anyone? Sry, they are actually 10x50mm

Resolved Question: So I have a pair of 10x42 Leupold Binoculars. . . but I want a second pair, can someone help?

I don't want to spend a lot of money, preferable $75 or less for a second pair to keep in my truck just in case I need them. I think I want 8x optical but the second number (i.e. 32, 42, 50, etc) what does it do for you? I want something clear and good for low light situations, so do I want a higher or lower second number? Also I was considering the Bushnell 10x42 Permafocus. . . does anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks

Resolved Question: leupold green ring mesa binoculars-are these a good deal?

I'm looking to receive a quality pair of binoculars. My budget is $200-300 dollars, but cheaper is obviously better. I want something that will serve me well for a lifetime, but don't have plans for extreme use that would justify spending more $. I want these primarily as general purpose binos: wildlife watching, hunting, rock climbing scouting, and sporting. I was leaning towards the Nikon Monarch 8x42, but I found a pair of new leupold green ring mesa 8x42 marked down to $99. This seems like a screaming deal. should I jump on these? Thanks. I found
